THE INTERESTING AND SPECIAL AREA OF THE THORAX.

What is in this vital area?   Many rhythmic processes occur within our rib cage, often referred to as the Thorax.  The Lungs with their necessary movement to circulate nutrient air to our blood. The Spine with so many nerves, stimulating and informing many processes between Heart, Brain and Digestion.  Then, of course, the Heart as the center of our blood circulation, supporting our whole life system.

Many people suffer from poor function of any one of these systems or from a poor interaction of them.

As a Reflexologist working with good circulation of all body fluids, I am very interested in these systems.   That is why I have just finished a workshop working with the Thorax.  All the attendants learning and practicing these new reflexology techniques experienced the positive effect of this work.

Now as part of my reflexology treatment I would like to offer this benefit to others who may be having some difficulty in this area, to offer some support.   This could be asthma suffers, hypertension suffers, blood pressure suffers.

SLEEPING PROBLEMS AND REFLEXOLOGY

The inability to ‘get to sleep’, waking early or experiencing disturbed sleep wear a person’s good disposition down;  leading to irritability, poor concentration or over an extended time this can lead to other illnesses as the body struggles to maintain optimum function.

The generally relaxing and overall balancing effect of a reflexology treatment can assist this condition.  In any reflexology treatment the practitioner will treat all systems of the body to bring the person to an optimum general function through the reflexes of either feet or hands..  In the treatment of sleep problems the reflexologist would do extra work on the reflexes of specific areas of the body ie head function, adrenal activity – to release stress, as well as reflexes of any body areas that an individual is having issues with,

A one hour wonderfully relaxing treatment weekly for 6 or 7 weeks followed by monthly maintenance treatments till all has found its new optimum function, would be recommended.

I have a diploma in Reflexology and am a professional member of the Reflexology Association of Australia(RAoA).  As a professional member I have a provider number for many health funds, entitling a rebate for a reflexology treatment.

For a one hour reflexology treatment I charge $60;  with the added bonus of a rebate this is a very reasonably priced pampering/relaxation/balancing treatment in the Arana Hills area of Brisbane, Australia.

REFLEXOLOGY DURING PREGNANCE

Reflexology is a gentle and relaxing, natural and holistic therapy based on the idea that reflexes of feet and hands reflect the whole body.  Reflexology is a wonderful relaxing therapy and you may even feel you are being pampered, when in fact your natural healing abilities are being activated.

Pregnancy is an important time in the life of a ‘couple’.  Pregnancy is not a disease, but some women experience periods of discomfort and fatigue during this time.  Having a baby can be a physically stressful time for some women – it doesn’t have to be. When the mothers body is functioning properly it is one of life’s greatest joys.

During pregnancy the mother is providing from herself to the embryo and later new born enormous amounts of nutrients.

Reflexology has something to offer the new ‘mother-to-be’.  Such as relief from back strain, constipation, dizziness, fluid retention, general fatigue, headache, hypertension, insomnia, leg cramps, nausea, sore breasts, stomach cramps and swollen ankles.

Studies have shown that women who have regular reflexology treatments during pregnancy have far shorter labours than those who don’t, as the treatments also assist the process of ‘growing a child’ experience.

Postnatally, reflexology can be of help to assist the flow for breastfeeding,  and particularly for those that may be experiencing post-natal depression, fatigue, stress and anxiety as a new mother grows into her new role of mother.

I have a diploma in reflexology, and am registered professionally with the Reflexology Association of Australia (RAoA).  RAoA has a training standard to meet to be listed as a professional member,  with this I can offer a provider number of many health funds to receive a rebate against the cost of a one hour treatment.  For a treatment I charge $60, with or without a rebate this is an affordable cost for support during pregnancy.

REFLEXOLOGY SUPPORTING ASTHMATICS

Stress and tension disturb the body’s normal function.  The adrenal glands (part of the Endocrine System) get over burdened when stress persists or frequently occurs. Stress could be a hot or cold day, seasonal air changes, events in one’s life or other things. The relaxation aspect of a reflexology treatment calms all functions and gives “space” to regain normal function and strengthens all systems as the congested toxins build up in any of the body’s systems is cleared away.

In a reflexology treatment for the Asthmatic particular areas are given special attention, such as, the reflex points for the Lungs, Diaphragm and Solar Plexus to directly improve breathing.  Intestine and Colon reflexes are also worked to address good elimination of wastes that come from congested areas.  Adrenals reflexes are also worked to release the stress burden.  The Spinal reflex area is worked with all it’s nerve supply to Lung/Bronchi.

Asthmatics can also have allergies/sensitivities;  this can be assisted by the reflexology treatment as the treatment would include attention to all the Endocrine System reflexes.

As a standard practice the reflexologist will work the whole body through the reflexes of the feet or hands; as any one part of the body is a function within the whole.  However, as mentioned above, specific areas are worked a little more for the Asthmatic, including the lymphatic drainage.

It is recommended that an Asthmatic takes a course of treatments to assist them;  this would be one treatment weekly for 6 or 7 weeks, followed by monthly treatments until it is mutually decided that an agreed upon checkup/touch base appointments are sufficient.  For a one hour treatment I charge $60,  with a health fund rebate this becomes a regularly ‘doable’ treatment.

I am a Diploma trained Reflexologist;  professionally registered with the Reflexology Association of Australia(RAoA).  RAoA recognises quality training standards for its members;  as a member of RAoA I have a provider number for many of the available health funds.
